An event to celebrate the first birthday of NOLA Smokehouse + Bar in Barangaroo. Inspired by New Orleans’ Mardi Gras, the colour palette for this event was an array of purple and aqua and emerald greens with hints of metallic gold complementing the existing colour tones of NOLA’s interiors.
To give guests a little sneak peek of what to expect, a welcome sign and jumbo balloons with golden tassels were placed at the downstairs entrance.
Welcoming them into the restaurant and highlighting NOLA’s existing fresh produce window was a bold and colourful balloon garland (using a mix of sizes), draped with gold fringe to add texture and fun.
Continuing around the main entrance space and the bar, were more vibrant balloon garlands with feathered masks weaved in-between, to link back to the theme. Purple and aqua uplights were placed around the space to add colour and further enhance the restaurant.
Tabletops were adorned with single stemmed roses (with the stems painted gold) and delicate masks as well as mercury glass votives to add ambience.
A key feature in the space was the ‘photo’ area where guests could stand under a large gold mask and snap pictures. This arch was dressed with another large scale balloon garland with gold fringe.
Overall the mood and aesthetic was fun and vibrant.
